Multi-Layer Reflective Attic Insulation

A lightweight reflective insulation designed for residential attic retrofit applications.

MULTI-LAYER CONSTRUCTION

Designed to complement existing insulation.

Perforated reflective aluminum facings are bonded to both sides of a fiberglass core. AttiicELEVATE installs as a supplemental layer, with existing attic insulation remaining in place.

HOW IT WORKS

Thermal benefit, in every season.

Approved summer diagram showing reduced radiant heat transfer toward living space

Summer: reflect heat away.

Helps reduce radiant heat transfer from the attic toward the living space.

Approved winter diagram showing reduced upward radiant heat transfer

Winter: help keep heat inside.

Helps reduce upward radiant heat transfer through the attic assembly.

Illustrations explain the heat-transfer principle, not a guaranteed temperature or energy result. Performance varies by home, climate, existing insulation, attic configuration, ventilation, HVAC system, installation, utility rates and occupant behavior.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

Built for residential attic retrofits.

More Consistent Comfort

May help improve temperature consistency and comfort throughout the home.

Reduced Radiant Heat Transfer

Helps reduce radiant heat transfer through the attic assembly in both hot and cold conditions.

Lower HVAC Workload

Reduced heating and cooling loads can reduce HVAC workload.

Year-Round Thermal Benefit

Designed to help manage radiant heat transfer in summer and winter.

Vapor-Permeable Construction

Micro-perforated construction lets water vapor pass through rather than be trapped.

Sheet-Form Construction

The bonded sheet-form product does not settle under its own weight after installation.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Product specifications.

Product format5 ft. × 40 ft. rolls; 200 sq. ft. coverage per roll
CoreFiberglass; approximately 0.25 inch
Reflective facingPerforated 99% high-polished aluminum foil bonded on both sides
Vapor permeability13.7 perms under ASTM E96
Reflective surfaceManufacturer-reported 97% radiant reflectance; emissivity approximately 0.03
Thermal testingASTM C1363 / C1224
Fire performanceASTM E84: ≤25 flame spread; ≤50 smoke developed
Room burn testingUL 1715 / UBC 26-3: PASS

Reflective-surface performance does not mean whole-home heat transfer or energy use is reduced by 97%. Tested system R-values depend on the laboratory assembly, heat-flow direction and required air spaces. They should not be added directly to existing insulation R-values unless the installed assembly matches the tested configuration.

INSTALLATION APPLICATIONS

A supplemental layer for the attic.

Loose-laid application

Installed over existing attic-floor insulation in unfinished residential attics.

Rafter application

Installed perpendicular across rafters while maintaining appropriate ventilation, in accordance with the approved application instructions.

Install in accordance with Attiic’s current installation instructions and applicable local codes. Confirm application-specific details with Attiic before installation.
